This is by far the funniest video I have ever seen in all of my many lives.

That’s just the first part of the first episode, just a slight taste of what’s to come.
Probably my favorite anime ever, even if the first 4 eps are the best ones. Then the shock value wears off, and then you discover the manga and how its ten times better lol.

This anime is old in Japan. I don’t think they even show it in Japan anymore.
But the humor is based alot on Japanese culture.
Do they show it in America? I wonder how much is “lost in translation”…

Cartoon Network showed it, and it ended its run last year I think. It took them about 3 years to show the whole series, and it got screwed as 1) it was the most pre-empted show and 2) THEY NEVER RERAN AN EPISODE. Is it true that the Japanese equivalent of Soccer Moms are what caused this show to get canceled on a massive cliffhanger? The manga continued on, but sadly, we only got the Halekulani arc here.
But yes, there’s some changed material. They keep the japanese text on everything, and most of the puns are localized (ie, Don Patch being called Poppa Rocks in the manga, Jelly Jiggler’s “nu” obsession is omitted completely for some reason, Softon’s head is now ice cream, etc.) Most of the japanese humor is kept in, intentionally causing it to be more WTF than the show already is.
In ep 2, Bo-bobo is filling out a contest form in his story. In the original, I think he’s just filling it out. In this version, he gets angry that all of the text is in Japanese, and he can’t read it.

I’ve never heard that. Where did you hear it?
I doubt it though. In Japan, if mothers don’t want their kids to watch a TV show, they won’t let them watch it…not protest until it’s canceled.
Anyways, that show’s weird, but not bad.
